Magnolia Bluff Parking Lot now OPEN!

posted Apr 12, 2012, 11:47 AM by Rock County Multi Use Trail Group

Rock County Multi Use Trail Group has been working with the county for the last year or so, to put in a parking lot at Magnolia Bluff. Denny Selvog and crew went in and put in a driveway, and trimmed up all the scrub brush, on The next day Bert Mawhinney went in and installed the kiosk and donation box, bought with Wisconsin State Horse Council grant money for 2009. And followingthat Bert was back and put in the rock around the border of the lot.

RCMUTG applied for a grant from WSHC this year to complete this project, and we were awarded $3000, we then have to match 50% of that money in either other donations or sweat equity. We would like to thank Wisconsin State Horse Council for their continued support of trails around the state!

A special Thank you needs to go to Denny Selvog Excavating for cutting us a break on the cost of gravel and labor, Bert for making several trips to the Bluff, and doing a great job, and to Bjoin Limestone for donating the rock and the hauling! All of your help is greatly appreciated! If you have a chance, be sure to say Thanks to these great local companies!
